CQUniversity has picked up two out of the five available 'best scientist presentation' awards during a conference hosted by the Mining University in St Petersburg, Russia.

Mackay-based academic Brendan Donnelly and Rockhampton-based academic Dr Nanjappa Ashwath visited Russia to present papers on mining and environmental protection.

CQUniversity Australia has made another giant leap towards finalising its half-billion-dollar merger with CQ TAFE, with the Federal Government today announcing it would ‘unlock' $73.8 million to support the project.

Once the merger is under way, all of the CQ TAFE-owned campuses (including residential housing in Emerald) will transfer to CQUniversity.

The locations involved will include Biloela, Clermont, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Rockhampton (Canning Street), Yeppoon, and the TAFE Trade Training Centre (currently under construction) at the CQUniversity Mackay Campus.
