Undergraduate entry requirements
For domestic students (Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens) the majority of CQUniversity undergraduate programs are offered via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). Entry requirements for each program can be found on the QTAC website. Some programs have prerequisites that are specific requirements that must be satisfied in order to be eligible for entry. Information on prerequisite subjects and other admission requirements can be found on the QTAC website, or in this handbook.
This includes Year 12 applicants completing the Queensland Senior Certificate (QSC) and have gained an Overall Position (OP) (including OP ineligible students) or equivalent interstate rank (TER, UAI, ENTER). OP details and prerequisites for CQUniversity are given in the QTAC Guide and on the QTAC website. The Queensland Study Authority (QSA) is the government agency responsible for issuing Queensland students with their Overall Positions (OPs). The QSA site has helpful information for Queensland school students.
Completing Year 12 is not the only way to enter into university. There are many other alternative pathways. At CQUniversity we recognise that you have valuable skills and knowledge that were not taught in the classroom. Work experience and other studies can help you gain admission. There are also bridging and access programs designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills and confidence you'll need to succeed. For further information, go to Bridging and Access programs in this handbook.
International applicants for undergraduate programs should contact CQUniversity's Student Contact Centre for all entry requirements, including country specific requirements, English language requirements and application procedures. Or visit the Future International Student website at www.international.cqu.edu.au.
Postgraduate entry requirements
Postgraduate programs will usually require completion of an appropriate undergraduate degree for entry. Certified copies of qualifications and academic transcripts and testamurs are included with the application. For some programs, appropriate work experience or equivalent qualifications will be considered. Entry requirements are given for individual programs in this handbook.
Research higher degrees
An application for admission to a research higher degree can be made at any time of the year. An outline of the proposed research project as well as certified copies of academic transcripts and testamurs must be submitted with the application.
