Course details
A range of occupational health hazards in the workplace will be discussed in this course. Areas covered include identification of occupational hygiene hazards, sampling and analytical techniques for occupational hygiene hazards, fitness for work, health surveillance, concepts of the use of biological monitoring and biological exposure indices, their relationship to workplace occupational exposure standards and the basic concepts of workplace toxicology. Relevant legislative and guidance materials as they relate to occupational health, hygiene and toxicology will be identified to provide students with options for hazard recognition, evaluation and control. All students are required to attend a compulsory residential school at the CQU Rockhampton campus. It is a requirement of this course to have access to the CQU website and internet.
