MUSC11411 Music Styles & Analysis 1

Course details

Students undertaking this course will study prominent musicians, composers and repertoire, including the sociological and political events that influenced musical trends within a specific historical period. Particular attention is given to the study and analysis of primary source materials in the form of musical analysis of the musical forms relevant to the style.

Jazz and popular students will focus on sub-styles of early Jazz to Hardbop. Classical students will focus on sub-styles of Baroque to Classical.
