Ionic solutions; equilibrium electrochemistry and its applications. Interfacial phenomena and electrode processes; corrosion, batteries and fuel cells, voltammetry. Surface processes; isotherm equations; heterogeneous catalysis and the growth and structure of solid surfaces. Modern techniques of surface analysis. Distance education students will be required to attend a residential school for this course.
